Everywhere I look today there are people reminiscing about this past year and the last decade. There are people on podcasts talking about them, social media posts doing the same and visual posts asking for comments from users about their last year.

Personally, i have had such a mixed year I don't want to look back on it fondly like that.
I can also guess what will be plastered all over the internet tomorrow....new year's resolutions. Nope. Not partaking in that either thankyou.
On the plus side, I have some great friends that are like family and who have helped me as my health has deteriorated both physically and mentally.
I already have a line of medical appointments to look forward to in the new year and a list of follow ups I need to do on people who have not carried out their jobs.
For those of us with chronic illnesses, I think it is difficult to think of time, be it past or future. Personally I struggle to think of a long future in this much pain, taking all these medications and living with so many restrictions. When I look back in time I see what has changed and progressed and also find that hard. I don't mean to sound depressing here, but being real, if I survive this next year that will be great.
Things that help me cope are my friends and family, podcasts, social media groups and books from the home library.
But, I wish you all a happy new year, full of whatever you desire.
